As SNAP benefits are on hold, a lot of families are struggling to keep up with higher grocery prices and less support. Some are trying to stretch every dollar just to make meals last, while others are choosing between food and other basic needs. I started Amara Colectiva to help bridge that gap with care and dignity. Through this Emergency Food Fund, my goal is to provide $100 grocery gift cards to 25 families who have their food benefits.

Gift cards give families the freedom to buy what they actually need instead of getting pre-packed boxes that might not fit their diets or cultures. It is a simple way to give people choice and relief when things feel heavy.

I will personally deliver these cards to the families, making sure every donation reaches someone directly in need. Updates will be shared through our Instagram so you can see the impact unfold in real time.

Before starting Amara Colectiva, I spent years doing this work independently and spent these past five months leading a public health organization, where I helped organize food drives, emergency relief, and back-to-school events for hundreds of families. This new chapter continues that same purpose, showing up for people when it matters most.
